Is it just me?

Post by Briangw6wtk on Fri May 01, 2009 3:04 pm

When disconnecting and connecting to a reflector through GB7CD, if I use the correct procedure to make a local call the CD I:

Disconnect from the reflector.

Change to local settings (RPT2 *not used, Your Call CQCQCQ).

Call through locally.

When finished, reconnect to the reflector using appropriate settings.

Change the settings to CQ (through the reflector)

Then if I call through the box and reflector, I often get the voice 'Connection currently established'.
eventhough the 'your call' is definately set to CQCQCQ.

Has anyone else experienced this, or is it me?
It seems to me that a command field within the software does not clear one of the fields (your call) if the callsing is the same in the next call through the box.

I would be interested to know if I have a problem, or isthere a bug in the system.

is it just me?

No it's not you Brian, my thoughts are that it is most likely the header stream not being read properly, this can happen when you are on the fringe of reception/tx. I had exactly the same in a known blackspot for me on the port road, and again in Pontyclun.

Incidentally, there is no need to clear the RPT2 menu when disconnected fron the reflector.

Hope this helps.

Hi Dave
Thanks again for the reply, I expected that to be the case.
